Under the leadership of Edgar Agnouni, Armenian women in 1910 formed the Armenian Relief Society because they were ready to serve their community and society-at-large. From the first chapter in New York, the ARS, in no time at all, became a diaspora-wide network of entities active in 27 countries. The ARS of Eastern US operates in 14 states, through its 32 active chapters and over 1,200 members who continue to serve our humanitarian vocation. Providing Relief and Radiating Hope has been a central focus of our mission, one that our members have carried out so diligently.
