I'm going back to school and need money. Help! |
QUESTION: I am a 26 year old, married mother of two small children. After five years of the same low paying, none advancing job, I have decided to go back to school full-time. Now that I'm unemployed, I am in desperate need of all of the financial help that I can get. -Back to School Mom
Dear Back to School Mom: Congratulations on going back to school. First, learn what options you have for federal financial aid. Last year $97 billion in financial aid was awarded. Learn more about federal financial aid at http://studentaid.ed.gov or call 1-800-4-FED-AID to find out about loans and grants from the government. Second, find out about scholarships. Read 501 Ways for Adult Students to Pay for College available at http://www.supercollege.com/store and search free databases of scholarships online at sites like ours at http://www.supercollege.com. Remember to ask your school's financial aid office for assistance. We understand that it can be a difficult move from work to school, but we know that after you graduate, your education will certainly open up your opportunities!
