Satisfactory Academic Program Policy

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP): The Higher Education Amendment Act of 1965, as amended, mandates institutions of higher education to establish a minimum standard of Satisfactory Academic Progress “(SAP)” for students receiving federal financial aid. Miles College makes its standard applicable to all federal, state and some institutional funds.

Administering Federal Title IV Aid

The financial aid policies and procedures manual has been developed to serve as a guide for the staff. With continuously changing in Title IV financial regulations, Miles College must keep the administrating of Title IV programs in compliance with the federal regulations and keep the financial aid policy and procedures manual up to date.

Consumer Information

Withdrawals and Return of Title IV Funds Policy

Students who withdraw from all classes in a semester may be required to return some or all of the financial aid paid to their account.  Per federal regulations, the Office of Financial Aid will perform a Return of Title IV funds calculation.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) afford students certain rights with respect to their education records.

Attendance Verification

At the beginning of each semester before financial aid is disbursed, the College must be able to document that you have begun attendance in all your courses.
