Scholarships & Grants
Departmental Scholarships/Grants
All newly admitted AUSB students that meet the stipulated scholarship/grant eligibility criteria are automatically considered for this funding opportunity. A new student’s admission application file is used by the Scholarship/Grant Committee in determining recipients in their particular program. Selected students are notified of their award prior to the start of their first term. For additional questions, students should contact the Admissions team.
Alumni Grant
Alumni from Antioch University’s undergraduate programs are eligible to receive a $3,500 Alumni Grant upon acceptance into one of AUSB’s graduate or doctoral programs.
BA-to-Grad Pathway Grant
Our BA-to-Graduate Pathway Programs allow applicants to seamlessly apply for admission into the BA Program and lock in their future entry into one of AUSB’s graduate degree programs. Those accepted into one of the Pathways will receive a $1,000 Pathway Grant that will be applied toward BA tuition, and a $3,500 Pathway Grant that will be applied upon official entry into their graduate program.

Matching Grant Programs
AUSB participates in several matching grant programs.
Bruce and Arlene Crandall Scholarship
This $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to one Antioch University student accepted for the Summer/Fall MFA term, GSLC Summer Trimester, Fall Semester, or Fall Quarter, who has demonstrated social courage by serving in the US Military or has contributed to one of the following national service programs: AmeriCorps, City Year, Peace Corps, and VISTA by completing at least one year of full-time service.
The application has closed for the 2023-24 academic year.
Myrna Lord Memorial Scholarship
The Myrna Lord Memorial Scholarship is intended to provide access to higher education for underrepresented students who want to work with children in an educational or child-development setting.
Non-renewable, need-based scholarship of $1000. The Myrna Lord Memorial Scholarship is available to current undergraduate students in the Child Development & Education concentration or current graduate students in an Education program.
Requirements for Consideration:
Completion of the FAFSA or Dream Act Application, and submission of a Myrna Lord Memorial Scholarship essay response by Dec 1st.

Provost UGS Award
To be considered for the Provost UGS Award, the following criteria must be met:
Provost UGS Award is available to five SBCC students enrolling in the fall 2024 term. Student must be in good academic standing and have completed a minimum of 24-30 SBCC credits at the time of admission to AUSB. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must complete at least 2 years at Antioch University. Five (5) – $5,000 awards are available for the fall term, disbursed equally over three terms; fall, winter, and spring. Scholarship recipient must maintain full-time enrollment & good academic standing to maintain the scholarship. Priority for Fall starts. No application is required. Scholarship Deadline: August 26, 2024
Segal AmeriCorps Education Award
AUSB matches 50% of the award offered to students who complete a term of national service in an approved AmeriCorps program.

Yellow Ribbon Award
In accordance with our legacy of service and social responsibility, Antioch University Santa Barbara (AUSB) is proud to participate in the Yellow Ribbon GI Bill® Education Enhancement Program, also known as the Yellow Ribbon Program, an initiative established by the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program makes additional funds available for student-veterans education through direct tuition grants, without an additional charge to their GI Bill® entitlement.

Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara
An excellent resource for local scholarships. The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara was founded in 1962 in Santa Barbara, California. In 2018, they provided 2,620 scholarships totaling $8.32 million, and financial aid advising services to approximately 20,000 students and families in Santa Barbara County.
Find more information about the Scholarship Foundation and apply online. The 2019-20 Application Cycle is now closed. The 2020-21 Application Cycle will open on October 1, 2019.
General Eligibility:
- Applicant must have attended at least four* of the six years between grades 7-12 AND graduate or receive a GED from Santa Barbara County high school** by June 2019.
- Applicant must be planning to attend full-time as an undergraduate, medical (M.D.), or graduate student at a Title IV-approved school.
- Applicant must be a U.S citizen, permanent resident, or AB 540 eligible
*If you are or have been a ward of the Santa Barbara County Court (youth in foster care after the age of 13), please call the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara office to check your eligibility status.
**Homeschooled students and boarding school students: You and your family must have resided at least four of the six years the student attended school in Santa Barbara County between grades 7-12. Homeschooled students must have a private school (homeschooled) affidavit of approval on file with the Santa Barbara County Education Office. They must include an affidavit for each 7-12 grade they were homeschooled with their high school transcript by the application deadline.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
The $3,000 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship (Awarded Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters) This scholarship is for new transfer BA Completion students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa and recognizes their outstanding academic achievement. Proof of membership must be submitted to be considered. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight quarters, for a maximum total value of $6,000.
To apply, in addition to the general scholarship essay, please submit proof of active PTK membership, such as a letter from PTK, or an official academic transcript with PTK designation.
