It is the student's responsibility to supply all the requested information, personal statement, transcripts, and recommendations. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All funds are citizenship blind except where explicitly noted.

New York City College of Technology offers a variety of scholarships to entering freshmen, continuing and transfer students. Many of these scholarships are based on academic merit and/or financial need.

Students who wish to be considered for need based scholarships must file the current year's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.gov. Receipt of a scholarship may affect the amount of state or federal aid for which you may be eligible.

City Tech's General Scholarships

Departmental Funds

School of Technology & Design, School of Arts & Sciences, and School of Professional Studies

Aaron and Clara Greenhut Rabinowitz Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded annually by City Tech to one or more students in the final year of their degree program. Recipients will be selected on the basis of financial need, where continuing enrollment and degree completion would be extremely difficult without additional tuition support. This scholarship shall not replace existing City Tech financial aid.

School of Technology and Design

Con Edison Scholarship
Scholarship will be awarded based on financial need to undergraduate students who major in the field of science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM disciplines). (Note: This excludes medical disciplines.)

Architectural Technology

The ARCH Tech Student Laptop Grant Program, Sponsored by The Brooklyn Studio:

The Department of Architectural Technology Student Laptop Grants Program provides assistance to students by reimbursing them for a portion of the purchase of a laptop. A limited number of grants will be awarded to full-time Arch Tech students with demonstrated financial need. Eligible students will receive up to $500 toward the purchase of a laptop computer for use in the Department of Architectural Technology. Purchases must be made during the semester the student is active, or receipts submitted for a purchase already made during the semester the student is active. Applications will be reviewed by the Arch Tech Scholarship Committee to determine student eligibility. All information provided will be held in confidence. (Graduating students may not apply.)

The Selldorf Architects Scholarship

Recipients of this scholarship must be matriculated students in either the third or fourth year of the BTech degree program; or, the third, fourth or fifth year of the B. Arch degree program.

Applicants for this scholarship must submit the following:

  • Two academic or professional references, including name and contact information.
  • A portfolio of work: Design and Technical projects.

Note: Application materials should be sent to the department at ArchitecTech@citytech.cuny.edu.

For so long as sufficient funds are available, scholarships of up to $7,000 may be granted from The Selldorf Architects Scholarship fund. The scholarship may be used to cover the recipient's tuition and/or the associated fees, books and materials required for the completion of their coursework.

(NOTE: This is an External Scholarship. Applications will be collected by the Arch Tech team and forwarded to the funder for consideration.)

BENHAR'S SCHOLARSHIP FOR DESIGNERS & CREATORS OF COLOR

Two (2) scholarships at $2,000 each are available to qualifying students.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a full-time student at an accredited college in New York
  • Applicant must be completing/have completed at least 30 credits towards an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, or Project Management.
  • Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Identifies as African American, Black or African Descent
  • Note that only students pursuing an undergraduate (first degree) will be considered

Construction Technology Management

SKANSKA USA CIVIL Scholarship
Thanks to a generous donation from SKANSKA USA CIVIL, the Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology Department awards merit Scholarships.

Eligibility requirements that applicants must meet to be considered:

  • Enrolled full-time (min. 12 credits) in the Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology program;
  • Demonstrate financial need; and
  • Have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5.
  • An essay that includes the applicant's personal journey and college/career-goals
  • Letter of recommendation

Greater New York Chapter of Women Transportation Seminar Scholarship
To assist women pursuing education and professional careers in transportation-related fields, the Greater New York Chapter of WTS invites eligible women to apply for the scholarships listed on their website.

The Concrete Industry Foundation (CIF) Scholarship
The department nominates one student each year to receive the CIF scholarship. Eligible students must have a permanent residence in the NYC metropolitan area defined roughly as within 100 miles of NYC, and they must be citizens of the USA.

American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Scholarship
The AISC Education Foundation will award more than $183,000 to full-time Juniors, Seniors, and Master's students in civil engineering, architectural engineering, construction engineering, construction management, and architecture programs within the United States.

To be eligible, students must be:

  • a full-time Junior, Senior, or Masters-level student at a U.S. university during the 2023-2024 academic year, majoring in civil engineering, architectural engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or architecture, and a U.S citizen.

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) ScholarshipsScholarships are for undergraduate students, provided they have at least one semester or quarter of study in the next academic year. Applicants must be current ASCE Student Members in good standing.

Dental Hygiene

JFEW Scholarship
Recipients of the Jewish Foundation for Education of Women (JFEW) scholarship must be full-time students enrolled in Dental Hygiene who are entering the clinical portion of their program. (Please note that applicants’ religious beliefs are irrelevant.) Eligible students must have demonstrated financial need, plan to graduate in two years and be able to complete a full-time paid internship in the summer between the first and second year of their program. In addition to financial support, scholars accepted into the JFEW Scholarship benefit from concentrated faculty mentoring and professional development opportunities during their studies and beyond.

Applications for the JFEW Scholarship Program are accepted as of February until the deadline appearing on the application form (mid-August).

Entertainment Technology

Made in New York Scholarship
Established to provide financial support to academically excellent and deserving third-year students enrolled in the baccalaureate program in Entertainment Technology or a related area. Awardees must be New York City residents on track to have accumulated at least 60 credits by the time of the actual award and have a GPA of at least 3.0.

Facilities Management

Grainger Scholarship
Established by a grant from Grainger Corporation for students majoring in Facilities Management.

Hospitality Management

Anna Nurse Scholarship
Established by Anna Nurse for Hospitality Management students.

Charles Mauro Scholarship
Established in memory of Charles Mauro, an alumnus, adjunct professor of Hospitality Management and corporate purchasing director for Windows on the World, for students who demonstrate potential in food and beverage operations.

Food and Beverages Scholarship
Established by the Food and Beverage Scholarship Foundation for full-time, baccalaureate students majoring in Hospitality Management. Students must have demonstrated service to the community/College, have completed 54 credits toward the degree and be a New York resident.

Hospitality Management Scholarship
Established through contributions from the Friends of the Hospitality Management Department as a general department scholarship and financial assistance fund.

Patricia Bartholomew CCAP Scholarship
Established in memory of Professor Patricia Bartholomew, former chair of the Hospitality Management Department. Awardee must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher and be in his/her freshman year. Contact the department for specific criteria.

Twin Marquis Scholarship
Established by the Twin Marquis Food Group for a full-time, third-year student enrolled in the Hospitality Management baccalaureate pro¬gram. A GPA of 3.25 or higher is required.

The Emily K. Rafferty Scholarship
Recipients of this scholarship shall be full-time students enrolled in the City Tech Hospitality Management program who are rising juniors, in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. The scholarship may be used to cover the recipient's tuition and/or the associated fees, books and materials required for the completion of their coursework.

The Francesco and Mary Giambelli Scholarship
This scholarship will honor students who exemplify professionalism and the spirit of hospitality. Recipients of this scholarship shall be full- and part-time students enrolled in the City Tech Hospitality Management program who meet one or both of the following criteria: (i) Applicant has demonstrated financial need and has maintained good academic standing, and/or (ii) Applicant has demonstrated exceptional academic performance. Individual scholarships may range from $500 to the full cost of a semester's tuition. Applications for this scholarship shall include the following:

  • A letter of recommendation highlighting the student's service and contributions to the department and/or community.
  • A personal statement that describes the applicant's accomplishments and educational/career plans in the hospitality industry and addresses the following question: How will the Francesco and Mary Giambelli Scholarship further your personal, academic, and professional goals?

The Margaret and Arno Schmidt Scholarship:
Established by Arno Schmidt to honor the spirit of his beloved wife, Margaret, and celebrates their shared passion for the hospitality industry and devotion to education. In this spirit, this scholarship will honor students who exemplify professionalism and the spirit of hospitality. Recipients of this scholarship shall be full-time students enrolled in the City Tech Hospitality Management program who have maintained a GPA of 2.75 or higher (unofficial transcript). Applications for this scholarship shall include the following:

  • A letter of recommendation highlighting the student's service and contributions to the department and/or community.
  • An essay to include a personal statement that describes the applicant's accomplishments and educational/career plans in the hospitality industry and addresses the following question: How will The Margaret and Arno Schmidt Scholarship further your personal, academic and professional goals?

Radiologic Technology

JFEW Scholarship

The Sam Green Memorial Scholarship
The Green Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Sam Green, a proud alumnus of the City Tech Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging program in diagnostic radiography (Rad Tech). Recipients of this scholarship will be full-time students enrolled in the Rad Tech program who are in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. The scholarship will cover tuition and/or the associated fees, books and materials required for the completion of their coursework.
