Scholarships

Education is vital to the growth and future of every community. Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and Career and Technical Education students.

Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $9.9 million in scholarships.

These scholarships are possible because of the generosity of our fund donors – including individuals, families, civic groups and businesses. Learn more about all of our 245+ scholarships by using our scholarship directory.

Our online application will open on Nov. 1, 2024. Applications must be submitted using our online scholarship application by February 7, 2025. Before you begin your application, we recommend you review a list of information and items you will need to complete your application. If you have additional questions, review our frequently asked questions or call the foundation at (989) 755-0545.

Selection Process

Community volunteers of all ages and backgrounds review a packet of applications from students they do not know. These volunteers score the students in 10 different areas – such as leadership, volunteer service, extracurricular activities and essays – according to the provided guidelines. To assure fairness, every student is reviewed by five different volunteers and their score is averaged. These scores determine the student that will be awarded each scholarship. Scholarship recipients for 2024 will be notified by mid-May 2024.
