  • Alabama G.I. Dependents' Scholarship

    Sponsor: Alabama GI and Dependents Educational Benefit Act

    Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, stepchildren, spouse or un-remarried widow(er) of a veteran with service-related disabilities rated at 20 percent or more; whose parent/spouse died with such a rating; whose parent/spouse was a POW; whose parent/spouse was declared an MIA or whose parent/spouse died during active military service in the line of duty. The scholarship pays up to five years of full tuition at any Alabama state-supported institution of higher learning including mandatory textbooks. The scholarship also covers 18 months of technical training including mandatory textbooks at any Alabama state-supported technical school.

  • Delaware Educational Benefits for Children of Deceased Veterans and Others

    Sponsor: Delaware Department of Education - School Supports

    Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens who have been Delaware residents for at least three years prior to application. They must be the child of an armed forces member who died from a service-related cause, is/was a prisoner of war or has been declared missing in action; a state police officer whose death was service-related or a Department of Transportation employee who worked on the state highway system whose death was job-related. Applicants must be 16 to 24 years of age. Priority is given to students attending a Delaware public college, followed by students attending Delaware private colleges and those attending out-of-state institutions. Those attending private or out-of-state colleges must pursue majors that are not offered by Delaware public colleges.

  • Guy M. Wilson Scholarship

    Eligibility: Applicants must be residents of Michigan who are planning to attend a Michigan college or university and who are the sons or daughters or grandchildren of veterans. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must have demonstrated financial need. Applicants must provide proof of a parent's military service record and an indication of their abilities to fulfill their goals and intentions. They should send scholarship information to their county district committee person.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be dependents of veterans who reside in the State of Illinois at the time of entry into Active duty and who meet one of five criteria.   • Military Dependents Scholarship

    Sponsor: Arkansas Department of Higher Education

    Eligibility: Applicants must be residents of Arkansas and U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens. Students must be the biological, legally adopted child OR spouse of an eligible Arkansas veteran and enrolled in, or be accepted for admission to, an approved Arkansas public or private institution. Applicants must be seeking a bachelor's degree or certificate of completion at any public or private college, university or technical school in Arkansas.

  • Minnesota Veterans' Dependents Assistance Program

  • Mississippi Educational Assistance for MIA/POW Dependents

  • NYS Regents Awards for Children of Deceased and Disabled Veterans

    Eligibility: Applicants must be New York residents and must have been living in New York at the time of Armed Forces service. Applicants are eligible for the award if their parent(s) were killed during a period of war or national emergency, if they were reported missing, taken as a Prisoner of War, or suffered 40% disability as a result of service.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be children or spouses of veterans who were declared POW or MIA. Applicants must confirm that the parent/spouse who is declared POW or MIA must have official residency listed as South Dakota and declaration of POW or MIA status must be made by United States Secretary of Defense. Benefits may be received for up to eight semesters or twelve quarters.

  • South Carolina Tuition Program for Children of Certain War Veterans

    Eligibility: Veteran must be awarded a VA Disability Rating of 100%, Permanent and Total by US Dept. of Veterans' Affairs (CH 35). If not 100%, P&T, veteran must be one of the following: Purple Heart, Congressional Medal of Honor or Missing in action. A one-year SC residency requirement for both veteran and dependent child. Students must attend a state-supported college, university or technical school in South Carolina. Applicants must be 26 years old or younger.
